It all started in 2011 when my parents came to visit from Denmark and brought this amazing recipe with them. I remember eating the Swedish Knækbrød as a child. But unlike the hard, dry Knækbrød I remember; with this recipe, it was love at first bite and we spent the rest of the summer & the following year baking and perfecting the recipe. After lots of encouragement from friends who loved our Knækbrød, we decided they were too good not to share. So in September 2013 we took the plunge and launched 'Line's Knækbrød'
In its simplest form, Knækbrød is a seeded crackerbread originally made in Scandinavian countries as a substitute for bread during the colder months. Our Knækbrød have no artificial flavourings, dairy, sugar or yeast, just the natural flavours & oils from the seeds and a touch of sea salt. And we must be doing something right as we have been lucky enough to be recognised by leading food awards.
