Furikake is a traditional Japanese seasoning seasonings made especially for sprinkling on top of rice. As a unique type of Japanese seasoning, furikake comes in a wide range of flavours, including our own wasabi furikake. We use New Zealand and some imported seaweeds; wakame and sea lettuce karengo, and sesame seeds. The word ‘furikake’ literally means ‘sprinkle over’. So we suggest you simply sprinkle generously over a serving of rice, either hot, steamed rice, cold rice from the night before, or rice that is going into a bento box for lunch. And it also goes very well with salmon and tuna.
