We want to make the kind of dumplings that a grandma would feed to their grandchild. We make everything from scratch with no cutting corners, using nothing but the best NZ produce. It is our obligation to make delicious food without costing our planet an arm and a leg. HAND MADE FROM SCRATCH Every single dumpling is carefully handmade by us, just like every dumpling should be. Everything is made from scratch by our chefs from the pastry to the sauces. We believe this process was not meant to be short cut. You can taste the handmade texture in every mouthful. REAL FLAVOUR Nature provides us with flavour in abundance, therefore our food is only flavoured with fresh herbs, spices and seasoning. You will NOT find any MSG, artificial colouring or flavouring in our range whatsoever. BEST INGREDIENTS POSSIBLE It makes so much sense to use local ingredients. It is fresher, less food miles and support local economy. We love getting our ingredients from local producers that are only hours drive from us and knowing that local produce can be traced back to an individual farm. It is important to us that the animals we eat have led a decent life as nature intended.
All our veges are from Levin, Long Bush free range pork from Wairarapa where the pigs live outside eating good quality food which in turn means we can taste the quality in our dumplings and Rangitikei corn fed chicken that run free and are not kept in cages and we get our beef from Rannoch Meats in the Wairarapa, where they raise quality Red Devon beef cattle. We try our best to use as many locally sourced ingredients as possible. OUR ENVIRONMENT COMES FIRST We are aware of the environmental cost of our food, and we try our best to minimize the impact on our planet. At least 90% of our packaging is biodegradable. This is not the cheapest option but is the best for our environment in the long term. We compost all our scraps and packaging with the Wellington Kai to Compost program. They do a great job keeping our waste out of the landfill and turning it into quality compost for local gardens. CONVENIENT COMFORT FOOD Food should be a pleasure as well as good for you. We believe our dumplings will satisfy your taste buds as well as your body. Dumplings are a satisfying and convenient way to feed everyone.
