We ( Andrew and Jeremy) started to produce a new chocolate drink in New Zealand five years ago. Its name is Kapakapa and we would love for you and your customers to try it - and hopefully consider adding it to your range of products. Kapakapa is a versatile, guilt-free chocolate syrup, ideal for making hot/cold drinks, as a topping for desserts/breakfast, as an additive in baking/cooking, making smoothies or even just on its own! Jeremy Randerson developed Kapakapa because he wanted a chocolate drink for his son without the high sugar content. He started searching for a natural sweetener and eventually developed Kapakapa. Since then we have discovered many more uses and he would now like to share it with others.
It has no refined sugar added to sweeten as it uses the natural sweetness and flavour of carob but without the dusty flavour and residue. The total carbohydrate content is almost half that of a typical hot chocolate - and where other recipes use table sugar - the sugar in Kapakapa occurs naturally in carob pods - not refined like white sugar. No sugar or sweeteners added at all. Kapakapa has no empty calories - carob contains phosphorous, calcium, magnesium, potassium and vitamins A, B, B2, D2 and E.
